MatchPlace at Davos, Switzerland, World Economic Forum 2018

Artificial Intelligence was the hot topic at the University of Chicago / Chicago Booth School of Business yearly event at the World Economic Forum. Andrew Irvine, Chairman and Founder represented MatchPlace at Davos, Switzerland this last week at the World Economic Forum 2018, where he partook in a discussion on the impact of Artificial Intelligence (AI) within the work place and on society. The panel delved into many aspects of artificial intelligence, including its impact on technology, agriculture, energy sustainability, precision medicine, and finance.

We thank the University of Chicago / Chicago Booth for arranging the event which included a highly respected panel of Satya Nadella, CEO, Microsoft; the Honorable Penny Pritzker, Founder and Chairman of PSP Capital, 38th US Secretary of Commerce; David M. Rubenstein, University Trustee, Co-Founder and Co-Executive Chairman, The Carlyle Group; and moderator Raghuram G. Rajan, 23rd Governor of the Reserve Bank of India and Katherine Dusak Miller Distinguished Service Professor of Finance, Chicago Booth.

This topic is of course of great relevance to MatchPlace where we are currently testing and implementing our AI credit decision engine for MatchPlace Invoice Financing (MatchPlace IF) to efficiently price lending decisions, thereby, providing an investor the optimal risk-adjusted return while allowing the borrower (SMEs) to access credit not readily available in traditional markets. MatchPlace completed it’s first invoice financing in 2017 with successful settlement and looks forward to adding this to our service offering, firstly, in the United Kingdom and other markets this year.
